Energy Storage
Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) are at the forefront of what we specialise in at CES. Our renewables experts have been guiding the way in the West Midlands and beyond through innovative projects both on and off-grid.

What Is Energy Storage
Energy storage is the ability to store energy from multiple sources at any given time. One of the most common sources used throughout businesses today are solar or wind generation, which produce renewable energy that can be redistributed where needed – and on demand. A typical user case would be the storage of solar energy during the day time when solar radiation is high and demand is low. This would usually be discharged during the night when radiation is low and demand is high, but by time shifting your energy generation, you can avoid buying back the energy at a higher rate in the evening.

Energy Storage Formats
Energy storage can come in a number of forms. Part of the service we provide at CES is researching new technologies and advances in the market to support and service our customers. As a business we recognise electrical battery storage as the most reliable and commercially viable type of storage for our clients currently. Through our service we only use high quality Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LifePO4) battery storage modules, which are one of the safest forms of Lithium-iron battery storage available, in addition to Lithium-Iron Titanite. As further advances are made within solutions for heat and air storage, these are alternatives that we will educate ourselves on as additional services for our customers.

Our Services
Our approach to battery storage is to provide future-proofed solutions using modular storage. We offer our clients systems from 3kWhs right through to 300kWhs and beyond, based on the demand and scale of their requirements. Using customer supplied data, we can predict the consumption and grid independence levels expected for every installation and in turn, the expected payback time. Where customer data isn’t available, we can opt to use standard UK consumption profiles to predict returns. For installations for commercial and agricultural clients, we also offer a 30-day monitoring service where we temporarily install import/export metering equipment. We then analyse the real-time data in order to design and specify the ideal storage size. In the event you experience grid outage, we have multiple solutions that provide battery power – even during a power outage.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS THINK
CES delivered exactly what we needed to strengthen our position in the HS2 tender process. The installation was completed efficiently with minimal disruption to our operations. Not only does the system support our transition to electric vehicles and construction equipment, but it also powers our site workshop effectively. The aftercare service has been excellent, with CES handling all system registration and compliance requirements professionally. Their strategic approach to meeting our sustainability goals while supporting our business growth objectives has been invaluable. Thanks to Joe and all the team.
