The brief:

CES, in partnership with an external contractor, is delivering a 237kWp solar PV system where part of the existing workshop is being converted into a flagship BYD showroom. The project also includes a maintenance building specifically for BYD vehicles.

This project supports the Greenhous group’s expansion into the electric vehicle market through their BYD dealership which demonstrates the integration of renewable energy solutions with electric vehicle infrastructure.

The addition of the BYD facility enhances the diversity of the showroom’s brands and aligns with their sustainability goals and the evolving needs of customers.

Powering the next generation of EV charging:

The new 237kWp solar PV system has been designed to power a comprehensive charging infrastructure at the site, including circa 200kW of chargers to support both showroom operations and customer vehicle charging. As the BYD facility continues to develop, CES will support the integration of innovative new charging technology, further details of which will be revealed at a later date. This approach ensures the facility remains at the forefront of electric vehicle infrastructure.

• Be installed across multiple roof areas, with a phased approach to minimise disruption

• Include consultancy services for network connection and supply upgrades

Project timeline:

The project is being executed in three phases:

• Phase 1: Showroom with hipped roofs
• Phase 2: Installation on the largest roof area (completed December 2025)
• Phase 3: New supply to support generation and BYD megawatt (MW) charger
• Phase 4: Internal works and energisation
